The study of a statuette of putto found in Melita (Malta), so far unpublished, is the chance to evaluate the iconographic scheme of the infant holding a bunch of grapes and saving it from an animal. This type originated in the middle Hellenistic age for the representatio of children and was afterwards emulated probably by Roman workshops, to originate a "genre" group woth "Amor" as protagonist.
