Abstract

We consider here a female statue in Venice, on the façade of the “Scuola dei Calegheri”, representing the Madonna of Mercy. The work, made during the Middle Ages, shows that the XIV century Artist, drew his inspiration from particular figures and iconografic motifs of the Graeco-Roman Age.
